About Us - Horne Lake Outdoor Centre and Cave Park
Island Pacific Adventures Ltd presents : Horne Lake Adventures.

Horne Lake is about outdoor adventure - learning and seeing nature with new eyes. It's about our staff who openly welcome and share their knowledge and experience.
Horne Lake is about wilderness preservation, about low-impact philosophies and practices, about making the most of our wilderness heritage.
Our Vision
Horne Lake Outdoor Centre envisions a healthy earth and sustainable human interaction with it.
Our Mission
Our mission is to use nature and the environment as a setting to teach ecological awareness, encourage environmentally responsible
behaviour and provide every camper with an opportunity for fun and adventure.
We aim to accomplish this by providing confidence-building experiences and programs that are designed to support each camper's individuality through the challenges of outdoor group living and teamwork in a supportive environment
We will conduct ourselves ethically and with integrity. We show respect for others in our words and actions. We act in the spirit of community and co-operation. We respect and protect our natural environment. We strive for personal growth, continual learning, and adventure.
Horne Lake Outdoor Centre's theme of respecting yourself, others, and the environment, promotes a positive environment for all campers.
Honesty / Respect / Caring / Responsibility / Inclusiveness
Our Staff
Our staff have been selected for their experience in the outdoors and
for their ability to provide each participant with an outstanding educational experience. All
of our professional guides and instructors are carefully screened
with a Criminal Record check and are fully trained prior to instructing our
programs. All leaders have first aid certification and are at least 19 years old (though they are generally 21 or older).
Our Summer Camps have low counsellor to participant ratios (1:7) and
children receive 24 hour supervision. Small camp sizes allow
us to give each camper individualized attention and provide
the opportunity for kids to create true bonds of friendship amongst the group.
The staff of Horne Lake Outdoor Centre
believe in offering a safe, educational experience. Through outdoor
living and activities we encourage personal challenge, fun and a healthy lifestyle. We
promote the development of spirit, mind and body in a way that encourages self-esteem and celebrates
individuality. Group living in an outdoor setting creates an ideal atmosphere for campers to learn about themselves and others in a manner which fosters a
close relationship with nature.
Our
Facility
Horne Lake Outdoor Centre is located within the boundaries of two parks, Horne Lake Caves Provincial Park and the Horne Lake Regional Park Campground; a total of 650 acres of beautiful and diverse parkland.
At present our facilities include 35 forested campsites, 70 lakefront campsites, various environmentally-friendly sleeping shelters such as teepees, domes and yurts, a playing area, a gazebo eating shelter, a snack store and a cave park visitor centre.
In pursuit of our Vision and Mission, we plan to enhance these facilities in the near future, adding an Earth Camp and other amenities that enhance education in the natural environment.
