We think your kids are ready to try everything we offer at Horne Lake Outdoor Center. Give them the confidence they need with our Explorer Camp. Campers will do all of our activities and gain experience for our specialty camps. Activities include: fun games, Canoe Paddling, outdoor Rock Climbing & Rappelling, Wilderness Survivor, the Obstacle Course, Nature Studies and Cave Exploring in Horne Lake Provincial Park. Quiet times include Nature Crafts and camp cooking. We might even go "Night Caving"! All campers enjoy Evening Campfires and camp in a teepee or geo-dome.

Want to take your rock climbing and rappelling skills to the next level? This camp focuses on proper climbing techniques and teaches the basics for fun, outdoor Rock Climbing & Rappelling. If you've tried climbing indoors and thought it was awesome, outdoor rock is going to blow you away! Try the "beyond vertical" rappel or work on balance at the Low Ropes Challenge Course, be a Wilderness Survivor, take in a rock geology session and knot-tying lessons. Throw in Cave Exploring, the Canoe & Water Safety Course and a ton of fun games to fill up your days. At night we will star gaze while roasting marshmallows over the Campfire before we camp in a teepee or geo-dome. On the last day, campers will challenge themselves in the Horne Lake Amazing Race.
Suggested Prerequisites: Explorer Camp, previous camping or adventure activity experience.

Would you like to hone your paddling skills and do an overnight canoe trip? Campers are out on the water every day learning solid paddling skills, basic navigation and out-trip cooking . . . even play a game of 'canoe soccer'. This camp culminates in a fun overnight paddle trip. In addition to all the Canoeing we do, this camp also includes a swing through the Low Ropes Challenge Course, navigation and map reading, Nature Crafts, planning an out-trip, Evening Campfires and camping in a teepee or geo-dome. On the last day, campers will challenge themselves in the Horne Lake Amazing Race to wrap up this amazing camp experience!
Suggested Prerequisites: Explorer Camp, previous camping or adventure activity experience.
