 Since
1988, Island Pacific Adventures Ltd. has been providing high
quality Adventure Programs to youthful spirits of all ages.
Situated on a crystal clear lake with spectacular scenery,
Horne Lake is an outdoor lovers paradise. Talented guides and instructors
share their passion for the outdoors and make this one of the
most memorable experiences on Vancouver Island.
 TEEPEE
& GEO-DOME CAMPING
Leave your tents at home! For a truly unique experience
you won't soon forget, try hanging out in our native style
Teepees or fabulous geodesic domes. Traditional features such as hand-peeled poles and
roll-up door are  combined with modern conveniences such as
raised sleeping platforms and modern material to add to your
comfort. These spacious shelters sleep 8 to 10 people comfortably.
TENT / RV Sites
If you decide not to stay in the Teepees, the camp has two beautiful
areas for group tenting. Each group tenting area includes picnic
tables, communal fire pit near the beach and firewood. Price
is included in "Explorer" packages or site can be
rented individually.

ROCK CLIMBING / RAPPEL
PROGRAMS -
Ready for an easy beginner introductions to rock
climbing and rappelling? Why not get experience
on natural rock! This 2 hour session will teach basic skills
in vertical rappels or rockclimbing. Excellent training
for the "Extreme Rappel Cave Tour" or those wanting
to progress from indoor climbing. Choose from easy top-rope
climbs to challenging overhanging rappels. Price includes
one-on-one instruction and all climbing equipment.
WILDERNESS SURVIVOR
What would you do if you were LOST in the woods? This program will teach the essentials of outdoor survival
skills including one-match fire starting, shelter building,
and wilderness navigation. Where would you spend the night? Should you go for help or stay put? What
about the animals?!!! We teach what you need to know.
CANOE AND WATER SAFETY PROGRAM
Our Canoe / Water Safety program is designed to introduce
beginners to basic canoe handling. Paddle strokes,
proper entry /exit, emergency procedures and the importance
of wearing personal floatation vests with appropriate clothing will be taught.
Almost everyone will find themselves in a canoe at
some time in their lives, so we feel that a little instruction
goes a long way toward the safety and enjoyment of the sport.
CHALLENGE OBSTACLE COURSE
Explorers
must successfully navigate the "Alligator Swamp"
by negotiating past rope swings, log crossings, and the "collapsed
bridge". Filled with action-packed challenges,
this low- ropes
challenge course presents many obstacles that will try to
stop you from reaching the end! Will you and your group survive?!
HORNE LAKE AMAZING RACE
Entertainment and challenge await for
everyone! Participants race in groups of 3-4 while
experiencing some healthy competition from other teams.
Working together, teams try to answer trivia, collect bonus
points, search for water, learn local plant names, and more.
But this race will not necessarily be won by the first
team to finish... there is more than one way to win so
check it out!
EVENING CAMPFIRE GUITAR or
STORYTELLING
Nothing finishes off a hard day better than relaxing around
the fire roasting marshmallows. Evening entertainment includes
guitar sing-along or fascinating storytelling next to the
campfire.
NATURE CRAFTS
Visitors and camp participants can enjoy taking a little of
Horne Lake home with them. Gather your materials
from the forest and combine them with beads, leather, or
other crafty supplies to make a truly unique memento!
BEACH GAMES
Downtime / playtime includes some fun on the beach. Hours of
fun playing classic games like "Capture
the Flag" and new ones including "Stealth at
Night!" |
