Adventure and Ecotourism have become one of the fastest growing industries on Vancouver Island. Since 1988, Island Pacific Adventures Ltd. has been providing quality outdoor education and fun at Horne Lake Caves Provincial Park, located one hour drive from Courtenay or Nanaimo. We have opportunities for hard working and resourceful individuals looking to apply their energy and skills to a job that is fun and challenging. Great experience working with our visitors and guides within a BC Provincial Park. If the outdoors is your lifestyle and you would like to try out an outdoor-style career, then check this out!

Horne Lake Caves Provincial Park - Work Experience Program
Our organization is under contract to the B.C. Government to operate and maintain HORNE LAKE CAVES PROVINCIAL PARK, which includes providing Park Rangers and guides. We conduct a variety of Cave Tour Programs including  Family Cave Tours as well as longer, more adventurous 4 and 5 hour expeditions that provide vertical rope instruction in a wild cave environment. In addition, we operate an Outdoor Education Centre with educational programs that take place in and around the Provincial Park. Courses in Rock Climbing, Orienteering, Canoe skills, and Wilderness Survival promote fun and build confidence in the outdoors.

Island Pacific Adventures Ltd. conducts week-long practicums for students seeking leadership training and work experience. Work with and learn from some of the best guides in the industry. This program will develop a wide variety of skills working as an Assistant Guide and keeping up with the day to day operations. A limited number of spaces are available through our Mentorship Program. Students will be provided with a campsite for the 7 day stay. Students must supply their own camping gear, food, and come equipped with an unsinkable attitude. To participate, students must complete a Criminal Records Check, available from your local RCMP detachment and speak fluent English.

If you are interested in applying for our Leadership Work Experience Program, please submit a resume with a cover letter. Mail, fax or email to:
